Introducing “Bookshelf”

The CCIPH team is excited to announce a new feature on our website: Bookshelf!

Bookshelf is exactly what it sounds like – it’s a virtual bookshelf.

A common question that many therapists get from clients is “Do you have any book recommendations for us?” Within the mental health community, mental health practitioners are regularly asking each other for book recommendations for themselves and clients too.

Our team has collaborated with other psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, therapists, and other mental health practitioners to compile a list of books that are helpful to read for a variety of different presenting concerns. Over the past few months, we’ve been working behind the scenes to organize the book tabs by different presenting concerns so you can focus on the books most relevant to you.

The recommendations are intended to be for clients but can be helpful for mental health professionals too. Please feel free to share this resource with anyone who may find it helpful. As a reminder, please remember that these books are not a substitute for therapy but can be used to complement therapy. If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, please reach out to a mental health professional.

To access the bookshelf, simply click the “Bookshelf” tab, or access it directly by going to https://www.cciph.ca/bookshelf.

If you are a mental health practitioner who has specific book recommendations or category recommendations, please feel to reach out to us and we would love to add them to our list too!
