Mandated Counselling
Our mandated counselling services are intended to be for clients that have been mandated to attend counselling by the court, probation orders, child and family services, and lawyers. Clients are also able to enroll in any of our mandated counselling programs without being mandated.
All mandated counselling service programs are offered in individual and group settings (depending on enrollment). To ensure that clients are able to learn new knowledge, apply the knowledge, and actively engage with the content of the programs, all programs include both psycho-educational and process-based counselling components. Sessions are offered in multiple languages to help meet the needs of clients that may prefer non-English language services.
The mandated counselling programs are facilitated by Registered Psychologists, Provisional Psychologists, Canadian Certified Counsellors and Counselling Therapists (depending on mental health practitioner availability and linguistic preferences). All of our programs are regularly updated so that the information is current.
Clients will be provided with a certificate of completion from CCIPH at the end of the program. Additional letters of progress are available upon request.
Although courts, probation, child and family services, and lawyers have accepted our programs in the past, every situation is unique. As a result, it is the responsibility of the clients to verify whether the program they are attending will be accepted for their mandated counselling purposes. Please check with your legal representative or court to ensure that the counselling will meet the requirements of your mandate.
