Self-Care

A lot of people will talk to you about the importance of self-care but when you see it on social media or in the movies, it usually involves bubbles and a relaxing bath. That can definitely be a form of self-care but it’s not the only one. It’s important that we find times in our day where we dedicate time for ourselves, especially when life gets busy. It can be a moment where it is all about our physical, mental, and emotional health.

So what can you do for self-care? My suggestion is to come up with a list of things you can do that make you feel happy and fulfilled. It can’t involve work like washing the dishes or responding to a work email. Some examples can be, listening to your favorite song or reading a new book. It can be going for a jog or mediating. An important idea to remember is that self-care is created by you for you to take care of…you guessed it (you). Self-care has to involve activities that you enjoy doing that do not feel like a chore.

Here are some more examples of self-care:

  • Singing

  • Dancing

  • Painting

  • Take a stroll

  • Hiking

  • Drawing

  • Organizing

  • Gardening

  • Journaling
